Hustle [huh-sull]

verb – to obtain something by deceitful or illicit means; practice theft or swindling. To solicit customers. Used of a pimp or prostitute.

Disclaimer: If you’re reading this thinking it will be full of foolproof travel advice, you’ve got the wrong blog. The following is an account of the day I got small amount of shoeshine and a whole lot of hustle in New Orleans.

I’d wanted to visit New Orleans for years. It was our first day walking around the city and I was LOVING it. As often happens when you’re in love, you lose all common sense and I certainly wasn’t being street smart. (I may also have been on a sugar and saturated fat induced high. Southern food will do that to you).
